We took Will to the National Zoo on our first full day in Washington, D.C. It was AMAZING! And, I'm not just saying that because I live in a zoo deprived place & am reduced to taking my child to see animals at PetsMart. Seriously- this zoo was incredible! Will had a blast (& let's be honest- we all did!) Doesn't he look so cute in his new mini-Boden alligator applique shirt?
The screaming mommy gorilla with her baby on her tummy (look closely & you can see the baby's head just below her tongue!)
One of the best parts of the National Zoo was the gorilla & orangutan exhibit. We saw a toddler gorilla throw hay at its Daddy & the Dad nearly spanked him! We also saw the Mommy gorilla carrying her 7 month old cute little baby on her tummy around the exhibit. At one point, the mom got angry & actually came up to the window just in front of my little brother, Adam, & banged on the glass & screamed at him! It was awesome! I'll try to get his photo & post it soon! The zoo has a really neat zip line system that the orangutans use to go throughout the zoo - just over the people walking around. Very cool, indeed!
We also got to see the giant panda which was awesome! And of course, they had elephants, fish, reptiles, a big lion, barking seals, etc! Great fun!

So glad you made it to the zoo. When we were there, that baby gorilla was only a couple of months old. She's so cute, uh?!? The gorillas were Caroline's favorite too!!
