Can I say enough how much I love listening to the baby's heartbeat!!! A friend loaned us her baby beat heart doppler recently. I look forward all day to coming home and listening to our baby's heartbeat! We love to just lay there and listen and dream about the baby. I think the baby doesn't particulary like being prodded however as I find that after listening for a while, he (or she) moves away! :) We also like to time the heartbeat- as of yesterday it was around maybe 170ish (it's so fast it's hard to count!!!)
It's the best sound in the world & the highlight of our day! I highly recommend an at home doppler! It's so incredibly reassuring and perfectly safe for the baby! Many books recommend them in fact as a way to "bond with the baby."
