Weekend with Friends

Last weekend, I drove to Waco to see friends & help host a baby shower. I so enjoyed being with my girlfriends again - laughing til we cried, staying up late talking, walking my old neighborhood, & just being together. Some of my precious friends are above- Kelly (next to me) is a brand new mom to baby Caleb. Next to her are Jennifer & Shelby. I really miss our dear friends - thanks for letting me spend a weekend with you!
The odd picture on the bottom is me, under a tripod, participating in a "controlled scientific experiment." Allow me to explain...
I really want to be suprised about the gender of our baby. However, I am completely open to all wives tales. I know, Reagan thinks this makes no sense whatsoever but I'm pregnant- aren't I allowed to be a little irrational? :)
So, while in Waco, my friends decided to do the "traditional" ring test to determine what gender my baby is. It was a big circle - clearly a girl! The husbands of my friends, however, doubted the validity of such a test & came up with some sort of pychobabble to explain why it can't be accurate (or according to Reagan, is at least 50% accurate.) So, they decided to use Jennifer's camera tripod with the string & ring attached so that there would be no human contact with the ring which might cause it to go in a pendulum or a circle. However, the ring just stayed still. It did get lots of laughs! My conclusion? Clearly the girls' method of holding the ring & string by a human hand is more efficient. Maybe not so much scientific but fun anyway & a good workout from the laughter!
Was the ring test accurate??!!? I'll let you know in about 23 weeks.
More belly pictures coming soon - I didn't like the one for week 15 so I'll post week 16 soon & then in a few days it will be week 17 - I'm behind!
