Why not me?
One of the things we've naturally struggled with is, "why us?" "Why our baby?" I read something very humblingrecently in the book, A Grace Disguised. "Why not me?" The author mentions that none of us deserve blessings & in the case of random losses, we don't necessairly deserve those either any more than someone else. At least I have a baby to hold soon. At least I live in a place and time in history where my baby will not be institutionalized or taken from me due to their differences. At least I live somewhere where medical technology is so far advanced and available to me. At least I have options in doctors & hospitals and schools and therapists. At least I have a supportive family & friend system who will love our baby & us through tough times. Thinking, why not me? kind of helps to humble us & put things in perspective. Because except for the grace of God alone, it could be something else or someone else.
