You thought when we moved to West Texas that it was desert, didn't you? In the year we've been here, we've had more rain than we'd ever imagined! This was what we woke up to this morning. We had a huge storm last night - lots of thunder & lightning. Poor Reagan had a big trial beginning this morning & I don't think we were able to actually go to sleep until around 4 am when the constant house rattling thunder settled down! Of course, Ruby (the golden retriever) had major anxiety issues & couldn't find anywhere to escape the noise. Bless her heart. This morning, I took the dogs for a walk with my friend Ann & her golden. I should say I took the dogs for a "swim." I had to give both a bath when I got home! The end of my street is blocked off due to flooding. That is the bottom picture. Several major streets by our house are blocked off- the duck pond overflowed into a major street so that is flooded. The park by my house, which normally has only grass, has completely flooded & as you can see above, teenagers are swimming & canoeing! The middle is actually quite deep as you can tell from their heads barely sticking up! I think the walk gave me a few braxton-hicks contractions. I keep hoping that one of these days, it will send me into labor!
