Catching up - Tyler & Tryke

Katie, why in the world would you open your first post in over a week with a picture of a book & a coke. Let me tell you, dear readers! I've lost count but I think Will & I just took our 40th flight together last weekend. For the first time, in 40 flights & while traveling alone with Will, I was able to read a book (the kind without pictures & short words, that is) & drink my diet coke while Will was awake!!! Glorious!!!! How did I pull this off? Because clearly I'm a super mom, that's why!
Just kidding! I'm no super mom- I know how to work the flying system. Will & I have a trick to getting an extra seat & for some reason, on our last two flights, we've gotten super lucky & have ended up with our own row!!! And, this time, I said yes when the flight attendant offered Will juice & I allowed him to snack on goldfish & pretzels (see his legs above). He also really wanted to sit in his own seat with a seatbelt & be a big boy for take off & flying. (He was ready to cuddle & read doggie books by landing.) And, oh yeah, he was deeply engrossed in his Wiggles dvd. (aka: secret travel weapon) Did I mention I got to read my novel & drink a diet coke?!?!? Glorious! :)
(Almost makes me rethink my letter to TSA regarding the ridiculous procedures Will & I go through at security due to his zancos... but not quite. More on that later.)

During take off, reading one of his doggie books & drinking his juice.

For some reason, whenever we've flown lately, Will always reads the safety instructions. I'm glad he's preparing himself in case of emergency but it's a little disconcerting for me. He is adamant about reading this every flight! I don't think he saw the "miracle on the Hudson" on the news but this behavior is a little odd.

Showing off the apple he was eating. I cut up the apple for Will into small pieces but lately he really wants to eat like Mommy & Daddy & preferred, therefore, to eat directly from the apple I was eating from.
Cheesy face covered in spaghetti (notice I've gotten a little smarter & remove clothing for spaghetti night)

Playing basketball in his zancos with Leila at a Superbowl party
Ringlets & suds in Lovie & Cookie's bathtub

Swimming in his grandparent's tub

Riding his new tryke at the presentation

I was so proud of Will at the tryke presentation... he ate his lunch off of a glass plate & did not even attempt to throw the plate, his food, or his cup!!! Yea, Will for behaving so well at the all adult lunch!

Getting on the tryke

The three members of the Longview Ambucs club who actually built Will's tryke just for him! Thank you!!!

On the tryke for the first time!

Showing off his new sunglasses (crookedly) to Jane & Sarah - lifelong friends in Tyler walking to Bubby & Dorthy (Gigi)! Will began saying "Bubby" while in Tyler which, of course, 93 year old Bubby loved! This morning, we learned that Bubby had fallen & is in the hospital so we called him & Will kept yelling "Bubby" as soon as he heard his voice. He couldn't wait to talk to his pal! Isn't that precious!
Will & Cookie cuddling before bedtime
Will & Lovie cuddling after bath time
Will cuddling with his G-Dad. We got to spend the night with Reagan's parents recently when our house had fumes in it. So fun to stay with them - like a mini vacation right here in town!
Whew- it feels good to get this off my back! I can't believe I'm just now posting these pictures. It's been a wild week with Will's yearly assessments in therapies. More on that later. Anyway, here's some pictures & now I can go do laundry, dishes, & that stupid baby scrapbook that I've got to actually pull out & finish sometime this century.

Caleb loves to read the flight safety brochure too! Way to go with the drink on the flight. I think we are regressing in that regard. It seems to be just harder and harder for us every time I fly alone with Caleb. I am sure it will get easier when there are two babies! HA! What a good boy you are Will!
