Happy boy on walks with his Cookie & Lovie
I love this pic!
On our last day in Tyler, I was finally fever free & feeling a little better so we decided to hit the zoo! Since we don't have a zoo within 2 hours of our casa (unless, of course, you count Petsmart), I would have to be really, really, super sick to deny my child the opportunity to go to the zoo. It was a beautiful day & Will LOVED seeing the animals, practicing his various animal noises, & WALKING everywhere!
He added 2 new animals words to his vocabulary that day - "zebra" & "wart hog." My mom ("Lovie") was especially thrilled that he only very rarely says her name correctly but he can say "wart hog." How sweet.

Comparing the size of his feet to the elephant's footprint
Actually, on second thought, I think Will was doing his elephant thing - he makes an elephant sound (if you use your imagination) & waves his arm up & down like a trunk!
Bird on a seedstick
I have a hard time getting him to eat pb & j or mac & cheese but he will stick a seedstick in his mouth- go figure!
Feeding the parakeets
At the zoo, Will really loved feeding the parakeets. At one point, a yellow one flew low in front of his face & he quickly caught him between his hands!!! I would have taken a picture but I was trying to pry his hands apart to free the poor, unsuspecting bird. That will teach that parakeet to underestimate the kid with hand differences!
I can't wait to tell his Occupational therapist!
(ps- The bird eventually recovered after a brief stint on the ground playing dead.)

Awesome! I love the pics of Will with Lovie and Cookie walking and the ones of Will holding the birds on the stick. I'm amazed! :)
How fun! We continue to be amazed and so proud of you Will and your WALKING EVERYWHERE. We miss having you as a zoo buddy--that day still is vivid in my mind and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
love you buddy--ejw & W
