Will & Walker

On our way home from FL, Will & I spent a few days in Pass Christian, MS, with our dear friends, the Williams. They were in our home group in Waco & EJ & I became running friends. In fact, I ran my first half-marathon with her which was great because the hills in Cameron Park about killed me & I needed her encouragement. I ran my most recent on with her too as they travelled to Dallas for the White Rock Marathon to run as a part of Will's team, Where There's a Will, There's a Way. I think EJ has the gift of encouragement; I often receive little notes or cds or emails with a song attached, or comedy cds, or books in the mail. God seems to prompt her heart just in time as I can't even tell you how many times I've been having a rough day, which she may know nothing about, & I get a note or email that day from her with a verse or song or book meant to encourage. I have been so thankful for her friendship over the last 6 years.

In 2007, we both gave birth to baby boys, 5 weeks apart - though Walker is quite a big bigger in size! We had so much fun playing & hanging out with them. Thanks for hosting us, friends!

Wow- the houses in Pass Christian on Scenic Drive, overlooking the ocean, are just incredible! I felt like I had stepped into Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind! Much of the town was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina but somehow, these amazing antebellum, historic homes survived... & they are just huge & amazing! The house above is a real life plantation home! It has outbuildings & if you look closely on the right side, you can see the chapel with beautiful stained glass windows. I think if I lived in one of these homes, I would speak with a very dramatic Scarlett O'Hara accent all day. The history lover & old house lover in me were just so happy to look at these houses! Somebody help me! I'm a damsel in distress!

Built in 1851, this house is called the Dixie White House because President Wilson & his family vacationed here in 1913.

Hermit Crab races!

EJ & I found lots of hermit crabs while walking on the beach during the boys' naptime which we collected & brought home for some real excitement. As you can tell, the boys were just captivated. In fact, I took several videos but I'm afraid that they are so boring that if you hit play, you would never return to our blog, so I'll spare you.

Unlike last year's hermit crab races, Will did not attempt to eat the live hermit crab. It's nice to know his tastes are maturing.

This animal was on the beach & we had no clue what it is. It looks like a stingray kind of except for the pointy sharp things around it's body & that super hard shell that looks like a WWII helmet.
Anyone know what in the world this is?

We saw lots of stingrays & jellyfish along the beach which helped make my decision to not take Will swimming.

Will found this baseball glove of Walker's & Loved it! He carried it everywhere with him. EJ snuck it into my bag & seriously, he's hardly taken it off since I found it upon arriving home. The other night, we found it on his arm in his crib when he was sound asleep! He even takes it in the bath & to the gym nursery. Thanks for sharing, Walker - apparently Will's blankee & puppy & pacifier were not enough security items! We'll return it soon!

Playing at the beach just after sunset. We had a really hard time getting two toddlers to cooperate for a good picture!

We had a yummy breakfast at a cute little restaurant- Will, however, was rather whiny & did not want his picture taken in the chairs

Driving around, the boys cracked us up mimicking each other - what a precious sound to be mimicking! (Hit pause on the music playlist at the bottom of the blog - because, I'd hate for you not be able to hear the spitting noises!)
