It's hard to say if he actually enjoyed the chocolate cake. You just can't tell by looking at him.
I will say that I have possibly never seen him eat so many green beans so fast as when he heard there was chocolate cake on the line for people who finished their dinner.
My pal, Maria, delivered it today for my birthday. She's only heard Will ask me for "chocolate cake" like a hundred times so she surprised us with a bday cake.
I told R that what I really wanted for my bday this year was to go swimming with friends. So, after a busy birthday of body pump class, a very good (rather graphic, though) Bible study at church on intimate issues, & a great, long nap by Will, we did enjoy some swim time with about 5 friends & their kiddos. (That's Will on the bottom right of the pic.)
We had birthday cake flavored ice cream in colored ice cream cones & had a great time swimming! Thanks, Clark & Shirley for being so hospitable with your pool!
Then, I had dinner with my fam & R's parents & sister & her fam at a yummy Italian hole in the wall restaurant- Luigi's.
A great day... despite the fact that turning 29 makes me feel rather old- it's a bit close to 30! And, I can vividly remember my mom at 29 which makes me feel really old too (although my mom loves that I remember her at 29 - makes her feel younger!)
I may not be any wiser but I'm definitely older.
My boys!
We went with R's office to a Rockhounds baseball game earlier in the week & had a blast! We had a box for the firm which was really fun - they provided food, drinks, an indoor seating area, & an outdoor area. Will, lover of all things baseball, had the best time of all & charmed R's firm's partners with his baseball knowledge & baseball gear.
For the first time, he began yelling "strike" appropriately during the game. It just amazes me to watch him as he watches the game- he actually will sit in his chair for a while, heckle & yell, practice his pitch & swing, & talk about all of the various forms of baseball gear he observes. His interest & focus on the game is amazing!
Above, he is modeling his hat, glove, & doggie backpack.
Will, Gavin, & Thomas cheering on the Rockhounds!
