"The clown made Will a doggie, Mommy" is something I have heard for the last 24 hours about 58,325 times. He was so excited to get his face painted & completely took on the role of dog afterwards for a while- panting, barking, & even "crying for his mommy like a puppy." Personally, I think the white part looks a little ghostly. But in a cute way.
We ran as a family for the first 1.5 miles at Face the Race - a local 5K that celebrates young, at risk junior high girls who have worked with mentors for 8 weeks to train for a 5K and then complete it. Three years ago, I was on a committee that created this project and, along with another girl, we kind of adopted it as our baby project and worked to make it a reality and get it accepted by the Junior League. I was unable to attend it last year so it was fun to be there this year celebrating the achievements of these girls. Along with training with a mentor, they learn about healthy living, nutrition, making good choices, etc.

Such a fun time with my family... until they took off & left me in their dust. I could hear Will in the stroller as they sped off yelling, "Go faster, Daddy! Faster!" Must be nice to be pushed the whole way! :)
