Thanksgiving Fun

Our Thankgsiving morning began with a 10K- the "Full Pie 10K"- created by my dad & a friend of his. R & I ran along with our cousin's husband, Justin. Will watched from my parents' front yard as the runners came by.

At the starting line- with my dad's friend, John, on his motorcycle to lead the way

My mom loves to cook & she loves giving cooking lessons. She decided this year since some of my younger cousins would be present to make a giant cooking lesson out of Thanksgiving. She printed out the family recipes so everyone would have a cookbook and then she gave lessons. My aunts & grandmother also taught how to make their various specialities. It was really fun and allowed everyone to participate.
Learning where the spices & fruits go in the turkey:

back to the run- Steven giving Will a high five:
here we come, Will!
post race, Daddy pretended he was 8 again & enjoyed jumping in the cold pool & then into the hot tub...over & over & over again

Will helped Cookie with his chores - cleaning the pool

Before Thanksgiving dinner was served, Will enjoyed double dipping his fingers into the cranberry-orange chutney
(again- won't eat mac & cheese but loves chutney with cream cheese & onions?)

Daddy & Will played some catch while waiting for dinner to be served

after dinner, Great Uncle Jimmy & Cookie (my dad) took a nap by the pool

Thanksgiving night, Will went for a swim in the warm hot tub (not fully heated- don't worry!) with his second cousins

and a full audience

Swimming

You can dress the boy in smocked clothes but you can't take the baseball player out of him!

Will enjoyed showing Gigi his Fisher Price Little People Pilgrims & Indians set
His favorite is the Indian mommy with her baby in the papoose
(Papoose must have been the original baby bjorn)

After leftovers for dinner, we enjoyed a family game of Catchphrase- a great game for people ages 16 (cousin Cassidy) to 91 (Gigi- who needed a little help as she kept saying the phrase outloud!)

My Aunt Carolea & I enjoyed some backrubs from my Grammy & Great Uncle Jimmy
