Escape Weekends

Recently, we escaped the Big D to my parents' town.  It's been nice to have a yard and see friends and have some good family time.  Once, my parents were in CO and we enjoyed just being a family of 4... in their house.
We enjoyed the family time and time to see old friends.

We played a family game of soccer.
It was brief.

We played more soccer.

Ellie enjoyed sleeping in her room in real crib.
(Yes, at my parent's house, both kids have their rooms - Will's has a mural painted and is very woodsy & cool... Ellie's is butterflies of course with lots of pink!)

And there was lots of hill rolling.
Thanks to Uncle GUS for teaching Will how to roll down a hill 2 years ago!  He is still doing it!
He had fun with his friend Claire rolling down (across?) my parents' hill.
He played with his little sister (I love typing that!)
And he drank capri suns with his friend Beau while in a push up stance.
I have no idea why.
But it's cute.
And he climbed in a bucket with Beau & Bella - friends who live across the street from my parents.
Don't they look like they are posing for something?  So cute.
He played some sort of tackle soccer with Beau.
Sweet friends
And baseball of course
Meanwhile, I discovered that I love to feed Ellie outside.  We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch for feedings.
She also enjoyed the adoration.
We even did her therapy outside as a fam.
(Can you tell we've missed having a yard?!)
Ellie got lots of good cuddle time with her Great Grammy
And some Cookie lovin'
And Will ran his first marathon.
Just kidding.
While we did therapy and a feeding on the front porch on Sunday morning, Will cheered and ran in the yards alongside the marathoners for a local race that passed in front of my parents' house.
For the first time since Ellie's birth, we went out as a family with friends to dinner.
So fun to see old friends!

(Yes, Will now loves ice cream & "cold stuff.")
Sarah & I with our baby girls
I am so thankful to introduce Ellie to little friends.  For so long I just didn't know what life held.  I am thankful.
