I write because it is therapeutic for me. And also, I have no time in my life to scrapbook my kids' lives so I figure when I get to a nursing home someday and am bored, I can use the blog to remember what happened when and who said what. Assuming, of course, that blogs still exist then.
It amazes me when anyone else reads about our life.
It also amazes me when a stranger says something to me in public. It's happened several times (even out of town - so weird!) when someone has recognized Will from reading the blog (I forget he's rather recognizable. :))
Thank you for bothering to read about our lives. Thank you for encouraging me! Your prayers, thoughts, & words mean so much to us.
So- just for fun...
if you are the 100,000th hit, take a picture of the counter to the right showing you are number 100,000 & email the pic to me! My email address is: baseballsbutterfliesblessings@gmail.com
(I saw this once on another blog - cute idea!)
And, that's not all!
For giveaway #2 leave a comment with where you are from. Just curious. Did you know I used to be a geography teacher? It's true. And I'm not so good with maps. Sad for America's future. But, I'm interested to know where your geographical location is.
I'll choose randomly with my oh so fancy methods of technology. Prepare to be amazed.
That's right. TWO giveaways. And I promise that even though I do have a surplus of breastmilk, I am not giving that away. Actually, I am donating it but not to you. It's going to babies in need. And that's a whole other story -mostly about my bizarre sense of competition with myself about production & need to feel in control of something & so pumping after all of my daytime feeds which means a freezer full of milk which won't last forever but won't all be used by Ellie. So - I'm giving it away. Like a tithe since I don't earn an income. Just kidding. It's late. And I may be nuts. Highly likely.
Ok, so I promise the giveaways are not for milk because that would be creepy. Nor are they going to change your life. But they might give you a little something just to perk your day up. :)
I have no idea when I will close comments. In a few days or so I suppose -whenever we reach #100,000... or get a comment!

Wow! I'm the 1st person to leave a comment. Probably because I'm the only person crazy enough to be checking your blog at 5:30am. I'm from Minneapolis and can't wait to meet Ellie when we come for the race. I feel as if I know her already!
I'm from Ohio!
I think it's awesome that you are donating breast milk! I have never met anyone else who did. I work FT and pump. I made way more than my baby ever would hope to need. I've really been blessed to help and I really haven't done anything at all becuase I would have to pump anyway.
We live in Wylie Tx. Looking forward to seeing everybody at the Race.

I was told about your blog from a friend who lives in Tyler (I grew up in Whitehouse.) right before Ellie was born and have been hooked ever since. What a beautiful family you are! I love your openness and honesty; how straight-forward you are...your sense of humor and style of writing are great! Also, your faith is so real. Thank you for sharing your life. It has touched mine and obviously many others'. :)

I'm from Midland, TX. I started following your blog after someone posted a prayer request on facebook for your family. I've seen you around town - at Starbucks and doing therapy with Will at MARC park. I wanted to say Hi, but didn't want to look like a crazy blog-stalker person. Ha. :)
I'm Amanda from Houston. Thanks for sharing about your family's journey.
Hi Katie,
I read your blog every day and am always amazed that you have the strength and energy to write practically every day! You are blessed and Will & Ellie are blessed to have you as their Mom.
I think of you guys all the time when I look at the framed picture you sent of Rich and Will at Fenway.

I read your blog daily and pray for each of you every day.
I grew up in Tyler, but live in Fort Worth now. I started reading your blog before Will was born. I love your blog - and your writing! You challenge me in so many ways. I love hearing what fun activities you do with Will...having a little boy myself, it's fun to watch you (blog watch, that is) play/do creative things/activies with Will...hopefully I will one day be able to copy! Where you get your energy from - I do not know! Now I will be able to copy the girly things you do with Ellie! Also - I am jealous of your milk supply. I had no such thing! And cheers to you for donating!!! I have volunteered with Mother's Milk Bank before - I don't think people realize what breastmilk can do for these tiny new babies in the NICU who need it so badly!
Originally from Garland, Tx but still hanging around Waco (Lorena actually). Katie, we were pledge sisters together. I wasn't very active as I had my head in the books most of the time though. But, I remember you clearly and always thought so much of you. I am also dear friends with EJ and Forrest Williams. I have shared your blog with pretty much everyone I know. We pray hard for you guys! Your faith is such an inspiration to me!
I am from Colleyville, TX....in the metroplex. Love your blog and reading about your two precious children. Having an adult child with special needs I have walked some of your path....prayers and blessings to you and your husband.

I'm from Allen, TX but grew up in Midland. My parents are friends of the Butts and are directors of their Sunday School class at FBC. Mom has been sharing your story with me since you were pregnant with Will. I have been reading your blog through teary-eyes for so many weeks. You are loved, blessed and lifted up again and again and again. Since we live here in the Dallas area, I would absolutely love to come help/meet you, Will and Ellie some time! I'm a Momma too, with a 5 yr old son. My sweet pea who would love to love on another kiddo! :) Thank you, beyond measure, for blessing so many of us with your gift of writing, sharing, loving and being so raw, so real with your story. God gets all the glory...and you honor Him with every post. Hugs, Sher F.
