In each of my pregnancies, people have given me little booklets of scriptures they had found for me. I have loved each of these little books as I know the care someone went to to find the perfect verse and write it down just for us. I have carried many of them (sometimes all of them) in diaper bags to doctor's, therapists, surgeries, etc. Sometimes, it helps me to just have the scripture right in front of my face and these are more portable than my Bible. On days when I don't have the emotional energy to search for the verses I am thinking of or needing to read, it's nice to have books that are easy to use and I can quickly find what I want.
I just love my little books of scriptures.
While I was pregnant with Ellie, someone sent me this
It contains personalized scriptures for Ellie and I just loved it.
A few months ago, when I realized I had several people in my life (some I don't even know in real life but have somehow been connected with) going through various crises (loss of a parent, a child fighting cancer, high risk pregnancies), I knew that I wanted to send them some of the scriptures that have meant so much to me and that might be appropriate for their situations. I have been so blessed by the books of verses my friends have made for me and I wanted to create something similar. But, in case you have followed this blog very long, my life is rather hectic and I don't have a lot of free time. I wasn't sure I could create the booklets the way I wanted for each individual during my short break at home.
So, I contacted Sally, the creator of one of Ellie's scripture books, via her Etsy store. I explained the unique situations my friends were facing and my desire to send them personalized scripture books but my lack of time to make them myself. She agreed to work with me and I just loved what she made. I sent her the scriptures I wanted for each individual person and she got to work creating beautiful books.
I love that they can fit in a purse or diaper bag or the console of your car or your desk drawer at work. I love that they are colorful and appealing to look at. I love that they are durable - they are laminated - which is nice if you happen to be around children or coffee or perhaps rain very often.
I loved them so much that I asked Sally if I could do a giveaway on the blog-
and one of you can win your very own personalized Blessings Book! You can order one for yourself or for one of your children or maybe as a gift to someone - no matter who it is for, they will be blessed.
To enter the giveaway:

2. Become a follower of this blog & then leave a comment with your name & telling me you did so
(already a follower? Just let me know in the comment section.)

(& head over to Sally's shop to take a look at her creations!)

This is my fav verse at the moment and I'm a loyal follower of your blog....Love you, Theresa
Matthew 16:24 (The Message)
24-26Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat; I am. Don't run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I'll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?

Hi,
I've been following your blog since the time Ellie was born. My best friend is Leah Rudnicki and I believe your husband works with Ray. I met you briefly at her Christmas party. I love your blog and reading about your precious babies.
My favorite scripture lately is James 1:2-4 "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."
I would love to win one of these scripture books for my close friend whose son was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.
After having a son born with a rare, genetic disorder that affects mainly his spine we have leaned on Psalm 139 as well. Cannot get away from those middle verses! Thanks for sharing your life with us. :) AJ
I am a faithful follower of your blog! I love it! Here is one of my many favorite verses:
Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
-Romans 12:12
The Blessings books are just precious. I would love one for my adventures with Field.
Take care,

I'm a religious follower, and it's finally official. Your words inspire me to believe. I found you through a friend of mine that I believe you taught in school around the time Will was born.
Although corny, my favorite bible verse is Deuteronomy 31:6. I used to repeat it to myself every day after my mother passed away in 2009. Still this verse reminds me that I am not alone.
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
God Bless!

"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:13-14, NASB).
