Yea for the second trimester! Some books, sites, & friends say the second trimester starts after 12 weeks of pregnancy, others say 14. For my own piece of mind, I'm going with 12 so I'm finally in the second trimester!!! This has been an important two weeks for us. We passed the date a week ago of when we found out about losing our first baby last fall. That was a tough day emotionally but also a good benchmark date to get behind us. I'm almost to that baby's due date which is also tough but I am grateful to God that this year I will have a baby to hold in my arms and that someday I will hold my first baby in heaven.
Thank you for continuing to pray for us. You have no idea how powerful & meaningful your prayers are to us. We all need them every day & are so grateful when you lift up our precious baby! Even though I'm in my second trimester (more of a "safe" time compared to the first trimester,) I realize how fragile life is. I seem to live for doctor's appointments to see & hear my sweet baby. I don't think I'll completely relax until it's in my arms. Of course, plenty of moms tell me that then a whole new set of worries sets in! But I'll think about that later! Anyway, thanks for your faithful prayers. God is so good and every day He blesses us.
Right now, the baby is closer to the size of an apple or peach & all of its major organs are there. The baby is learning to use the restroom (kind of a gross thought if you think too hard about the fact that it is inside me!) & is starting to suck its thumb. How precious is that?!? He (or she) also has ankles & wrists now! I seem to be showing some... especially in the afternoons & evenings. However, to most people, it probably looks like I just ate too big a meal! I am getting more and more hungry & seem to have a constant craving for peanut butter (the albertson's brand- not peter pan!) & grapes & lots of juice- I go through about a gallon every other day! (Maybe its the constant comparisons to fruit for the baby's size each week that make me constantly crave fruit?) Reagan is slightly concerned that his baby is already developing a strong affection for peanut butter & jelly! :) Is it true that with a girl you crave sweet things over salty things??? This addiction to fruit & juice over say "straight up salt" is new for me! Hmmmmmm...
I'll post a belly picture soon.

Be careful with the PB&J...I think Reagan is right :) That's what my mom did...eat lots of peanut butter & banana sandwiches ....during pregnancy and I'm 'deathly' allergic to PB now. Not to place blame...but Forrest & I did some research and did read their is a link to children's allergies and what mom's eat during pregnancy...PB is a strong food. Not to scare you...but I'm sure you'll look it up :) But it's good you are getting your protein! Let me know what you find. Thanks for blogging friend. love, ejw
It's been 4 weeks since your last appointment. When is your next OB appointment? I'm excited to hear your update!
Your cravings sound EXACTLY like mine when I was pregnant w/ Hannah (maybe you are carrying a girl?). I could not eat enough fruit or juice. I also craved PB like crazy!
