brief update

dear friends- we've escaped town for a few days as we just needed to get out from everything to try to digest what is going on before we begin the onslaught of drs appointments in a few days. sometime this week, i'll try to give a little more information as to our baby & the drs. appointment on friday. i just need to get some thoughts & emotions together first. We have also been discussing some specific ways you can be praying for us & helping us - i'll share more specifics later but for now...
please pray for a miracle for our baby - pray that drs will be shocked & that the diagnosis will be wrong! We have about 10 weeks of pregnancy left- please pray that God will form these little body parts! please pray for no brain or cognitive damage. there is none that they can find right now but we're not done with dr appointments & there is so little known about this particular syndrome that nothing is for sure. (only 1 in 1.5 million people have this; only about 50 reported cases exist). also, nothing is for sure until after delivery - they can't confirm a diagnosis until then.
please pray for these parents to be as we deal with so many emotions. we are scared, confused, relieved to have a living baby, disappointed about some things, scared out of our minds, & desperate to protect this sweet, innocent baby from a scary, cruel world.
again, we continue to read psalm 139 to this baby & continue to claim that this is a perfectly formed baby - just differently formed. we don't understand much right now but we are grateful for this little life
thanks for keeping us in your prayers...more later- love, k & r
i can't wait to kiss those big cheeks!

Dear Katie,
Your mother called me from the middle of the ocean, pleading with me to pray. I've been weeping/praying all weekend. I join you and Reagan in praying for a miracle, praying for no damage to the brain, praying for God to form those little hands and feet. I know how very longed for and loved this precious little one is. I pray for you, for your parents, for your precious little one. Please know how loved you are.
