I am so blessed to be a part of a "mom's group" at our church. It is a group of young moms who get together twice a month to talk about their kids, life, pray for their kids, & laugh a lot. The night before our specialist appointments to find out if our baby could live or not, my mom & I attended mom's group & these girls wrapped their arms around us & prayed & cried with us. That was a precious time for me. I later found out that during our appointments the next day, they got together again to pray & beg God for the life of our baby. I am so grateful for their friendships & faithfulness in praying. This week, we decided to just have a "girls night out" & went to Reagan's parents' pool for mom's group. It was so much fun to just have a hot tub party & laugh a ton. They are also giving me lots of advice for the delivery - it's a lot better than watching the discovery channel screaming women & taking their advice!!! :) Thanks girls for swimming with me & keeping me laughing! :)
Another lady from church this week (whom I just met this week!) gave me a gift basket with a baby gift & lots of fun, thoughtful gifts for me. Perhaps the coolest things were a "broken" silver pottery necklace - emphazing how our brokeness can lead to Christ & a "crooked cross." The crooked cross is made without a pattern or mold & therefore is crooked. But, in its crookedness, it is perfectly imperfect - unique & beautiful & special - just as we all are - with or without hands & feet. What a thoughful gift! I am hanging it where we will all see it daily in our home to remember to claim Psalm 139 for our baby & to appreciate their unique form!

hi there, katie!
i'm thanking God right now for the laughter and the fun that He has put in your life! the friends you are sharing with right now will become the long and deep friendships that mean so much as life goes on. shirley and i have been friends for about 30 years. we did baby showers, etc. together (i esp. remember reagan's--our surprise preemie!)and now we bask in the warmth of long and seasoned memories. friends are among God's richest blessing to us!
with much love and continued prayers,
nancy

The Lord is my Shepherd
That's Relationship! Guidance.

I shall not want
That's Supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That's Rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That's Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul.
That's Healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
That's Guidance!

For His name sake
That's Purpose! His Glory.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That's Testing!

I will fear no evil.
That's Protection!!

For Thou art with me
That's Faithfulness, Security, Unconditional Friendship.

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
That's Discipline, Faith, Direction, Power.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
That's Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil
That's Consecration!

My cup runneth over
That's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That's Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That's Security!

Forever
That's Eternity!
