Dear friends-
Several of you have asked for how you can pray for us this week... so here you go. Thank you for loving & praying for our baby. We are amazed at how many people have invested in this baby with their prayers! We feel like our baby must already be so loved & we can't wait to introduce them to those who have prayed for them. I think the 1 Samuel verse really applies to this child... "for this child WE have prayed." Thank you! We are often without words & our faith is smaller than a mustard seed. We are therefore so dependent on the prayers and faith of others. Last night someone who has a special needs child came over to talk and pray with us. We were so encouraged by just having someone who actually understands and can relate to all of our emotions and fears. One of the things he said that has stuck with us is to not allow our joy to be stolen. We want to continue enjoying pregnancy and anticipating with joy the arrival of our baby. Yet, he did not minimize our challenges and pain. That was good for us to hear. We are celebrating that we are having a baby. But we are also experiencing a lot of emotions and fears right now as we come to grips with understanding what is going on. This is very scary & there is a lot of sadness & fear associated with this & that's okay.
ok - thanks for continuing to lift this baby up in your prayers!
This week:
We will travel to Dallas for a fetal echochardiogram & a fetal mri. We will also meet with a perinatalast who would deliver in Dallas if we choose to have the baby there. We also plan on meeting with pediatric specialists at Scottish Rite & Children's Hopsital. Pray for no more complications or scary surprises from the tests. (Good surprises are welcome!)
Pray that we would be encouraged by doctors there and by seeing how wonderful the children's hospitals are.
Pray that our joy would not be stolen.
Pray that our baby would know they are loved.
Pray that we would be able to make good decisions as far as delivery, etc. goes.
Pray for our sleep & rest. We have a "to do" list a mile long now.
Thanks! love, k & r

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with a willing spirit.
