It's Coming...

Where There's A WILL, There's A Way is almost here!!! Thought I'd give you a quick update on the progress we're making towards the Will's White Rock Marathon team in December in Dallas.
This past weekend, a few people who work for the marathon & ESPN to produce a tv show & dvd flew to our home to interview us & shoot footage of Midland. They believe Will's story is one of hope & optimisim & so they are featuring him in the dvd & tv show. For the first hour, they filmed Reagan, Will, Ruby, & I along with some of the local people who are training for the race & supporting Will by running in his honor. They filmed us "fake" training while we ran through the park by our house & through our neighborhood. It was lots of fun... although I did slightly embarrass myself when I forgot that the stroller had a microphone on it to capture the sound of our feet running & I had an interesting conversation with some friends. Thank goodness for editing, right?!? They also rearranged our living room & interviewed us as well as Ashlee, our race coordinator, in our home. They also filmed Will's verse in his nursery & our wedding pictures. They interviewers were great to work with - so respectful & honoring of Will & our family & our privacy. Yet they also felt that Will's is a story of hope & that we can share that with others. Furthermore, his is a story of people coming together to support someone as so many are doing with the race. We wanted to share how incredible that it. Will did great- very happy & alert most of the day despite the disruption to his schedule.
If you're coming to our pre-race party, you'll get to be among the first to see the film! They are going to come & share it with us there! They'll also be filming Will's finish at the race.
(fyi- on another sidenote, Will was asked last week to play baby Jesus in our church's Christmas pageant... can I tell you how excited I am!!??!?!?) (He's the youngest baby boy in our church!)
OK - some race stats so far...
  • 213 t-shirts ordered! Be on the lookout for all those royal blue shirts! Wow!!!
  • about 150 people running on Will's team!
  • lots of relay teams! Some of the team names I've heard: "IronWill" (formerly was "Will Run for Butts!"), "Willing to Run," & "Where There's A Will, There's A Way" (all puns using Will's name of course!)
  • runners are coming from Midland, Waco, Tyler, Dallas, Houston, Tennessee, Missouri, Fort Worth, Austin, & even Canada!!! We're International! :)

We are so humbled by the support you are showing our family! We can't wait to celebrate with you! Be sure to check the race website for more information & details about the party - www.psalm139race.org
