I love bedtime. I love my last few minutes of Will's day spent in the rocking chair cuddling & singing. He just makes me laugh so much during those minutes. He loves to sing - we sing his 2 lullabies I've sung since he was in my womb. We sing ABC's & Itsy Bitsy Spider. And then he likes to sing "Jesus Loves Me" all by himself. He's quite particular about that song - he must turn around in my lap & sing it with his back to me & quite often will stop his singing to say,
"Don't look at Will." So, even though I am behind him, I must close my eyes & point my head away from him. He just cracks me up.
Recently, he mixed 2 of his favorite songs together for a really funny combo: "Jesus Loves Me" with "Take Me Out to the Ballgame!" Hilarious as he alternated lines. R & I were dying laughing but silently so that he would continue with the song. And, of course, we weren't allowed to look at him!
Last night, during our prayer, he was adamant that we thank Jesus for the following: pirate ships, pirates, pirate men, baseball helmets, baseball balls, baseball bats, baseball hats, & baseball players. No mention of Mommy or Daddy but at least he has his passions. And probably no one else is thanking God for pirates so maybe if those Somalian pirates knew about Will's prayer their hearts would be warmed... & they wouldn't be so mean. :)
