You know those little cards you get in the mail for free underthings from Victoria's Secret? I am ashamed to admit that I have never redeemed one... until yesterday.
I grabbed my sidekick & off we went to VS. Upon seeing the manequins there, Will commented, "Look, Mommy! Mommies!" Yes, precious child, those are what a mommy's body looks like. Except without all those beautiful, bountiful blessings of motherhood- like sagging & cellulite & stretch marks.
(As a sidenote- Will enjoys pointing out "men," "boys," & "girls." For some reason, he refuses to recognize women as women - they are either "lady" if they are a store clerk whom he is handing my debit card to or they are "mommies." Generally this is cute & makes them smile - except when he assumes that the mannequins are mommies.)
I think his days of accompanying me to said store are over - until he is shopping for his wife someday. And then I won't be accompanying him.
On a completely, unrelated note: Today, I took Will with me for a quick doctor's appointment. He was so cute & grabbed his stethoscope to take with us when he heard where we were going. He told people there he was "Doctor Will." He also checked lots of nurses' heartbeats- while wearing the stethoscope around his tummy as opposed to his ears. The nurses told him he might be starting a new trend. When he met my doctor, he shook his hand & said, "Nice to meet you." Just precious. Thanks to modern technology like a ipod touch & bribery like a sucker, he was a very good boy. Just before leaving, he got down on the floor & practiced his swimming moves for the nurses- literally "swam" across the floor as he flirted. Oh my.

Katie, What a great Mommy Will has! Thanks for sharing about your journey to a thankful heart. I know that I can work on that for sure!
