I'm learning to just be quiet sometimes & I will hear the funniest things from Will as he is playing. Here are a few things I've heard this week:
"I'm not handsome; I'm cute!" (yep - good self-esteem, that Will)
"Sometimes I be a pirate. Sometimes I be a cowboy. Sometimes I be a Will."
"Triceratops have 3 horns on their heads. Brontosaurus has a long neck. T-Rex has lots of teeth. Dinosaurs are FUN!"
"Christmas is over. Christmas was FUN!"
When told by a stranger at the grocery store that he was precious:
"I'm not precious; I'm Will. I'm a big boy Will!"
When told by Mommy that big boys use the potty instead of diapers: "I'm a little boy."
"Mommy is strong. Daddy is strong like Will and Baby Jesus!"
When asked by Daddy if he had a poopy diaper, he responded,
"I don't have a poopy diaper; I'm a baseball player!" (It's hard to argue with that kind of logic!)
Overheard while he was in the bathtub tonight: "Don't cry in night night or mommy will come to my room and give me a spank." I guess he is reminding himself of the rule? (We've been having MAJOR sleep issues this week as he got lots of extra cuddling with a double ear infection on Friday & since then has been crying all night- wanting attention... Yikes!)
In response to me crying recently, he said, "Mommy, what's the matter? What's wrong? Hold you, Mommy?" And then gave me big kisses!
... Drumroll, please!...
My favorite Willism so far this week was said this afternoon while we were cuddling after his short nap (we went to the dr again, by the way, this morning & turns out - he is not responding to the meds for his double ear infection so we've switched to a stronger antibiotic. Poor baby - that explains his inability to sleep (& therefore mine) since last week! And, I had to ask his forgiveness as I am the worst mom ever for treating the last 2 days like they were defiance/discipline issues in his bed when he really just was still in pain!)
Ok - the Willism while cuddling:
"Mommy, you have boogers. I get them. I can't see them, Mommy!" Then...
he pointed with both hands at my breasts and said with a giggle, "Mommy, what are those?" I explained hurriedly that they are how Mommies feed babies and that they are a "no touch" for him. He's always been a boob man. However, I thought age 2 was a little young to ask such questions!?!?!?
What's the funniest thing your kiddo has said this week?

When we tell Wyatt not to do something he says, "I'm a guy!" in an angry voice. As if this should make it OK for him to do whatever he wants! :) Or sometimes he says, "I'm a grumpy-pants," in response to the same situation...
Carter told me the other night as he was looking out the window that he wanted to carry the moon! I asked him what he would do with it and he said "Carry IT". Sometimes I wish I could jump in their heads just to see what they are really thinking!
LOVE this stage! Aaron prayed this week for Jesus to be healed "from all that dying on the cross."
The last funny thing I remember is: Jayce (6) got in trouble for body slamming Jude (1). His response, "Mom, he was irritating me and I only hurt him a little to let him know I'm serious. If I would have punched him or threw him down like I do Jak, he would be dead right now!"
