WOW!!! What a fun weekend we had at the Dallas White Rock Marathon!!! Thank you so much for your support! I can't wait to share so many details and pictures with you. I'll try to post some pictures each day. Below are pictures from the events on Friday.
Will & I at the "prosthetic & wheelchair" Christmas tree designed by a patient of Scottish Rite on display at Neiman Marcus. A channel 8 cameraman happened to stop by & filmed Will (in his prosthetics) looking in wonder at the tree. I'm sure that guy was glad for the perfect timing! Will & I think, Justin Meadors, an elite athlete. He competes in marathons - racing 26.2 miles in a wheelchair... & has won!

Will & a great role model - 2 time gold medalist & one time bronze medalist, Rudy Tolson-Garcia. Rudy is a national spokesperson for the Challenged Athletes Foundation that provides grant money to people with physical challenges to enable them to participate in any sport they want to. Often, the equipment alone is cost-prohibitive and therefore those with challenges just don't participate in sports. (ie: a running prothesis costs about $15,000... Will would require two & they wear out just like your running shoes do!) He came to the marathon & signed autographs alongside Will & the other patient champions. He had never held a baby before so I teased him about having Olympic gold medals & yet never having held a baby (until Will!) He also signed a poster for Will's future big boy room - so cool!

Will loves a pretty girl! Nichola was another patient champion and has an arm difference (missing her right arm). She is currently Miss White Settlement & will be going for Miss Texas this year. Will enjoyed being in her lap! :) Little flirt!

Signing autogaphs with Cody & Rudy.Friday morning, we went straight from the airport to a party at Scottish Rite Hospital where Will signed autographs (or just pretended to as I usually had the lid on the marker.... didn't want to ruin that precious smocked outfit!) along with other patient champions. What a fun morning!
