A Pirate's Life for Me!

Ahoy there, Mateys!
About a year ago, when we were in Florida, Will first laid eyes on a real pirate ship. It was love at first sight & he proceeded to mention it nearly every day for an entire year!
This trip, he got his wish & we let him ride the real pirate ship.
He talks about it daily as he tells us stories of his adventures onboard!
Arrrgh!
View if you dare!

Captain Will loves a good water gun fight

No one is safe... not even the pirates onboard
(One older little boy came up to Will & kept staring at him & shooting water in Will's eyes. So Will suddenly yelled, "Walk the Plank!" It was hilarious!
The kid left him alone after that.)
He really enjoyed swabbing the deck & watching for dolphins (we saw lots!)
We've been practicing sword fighting at home so Will was a pro at this game!
He also loved shooting the canon

Will loves pretend play & is passionate about pirates!
Earlier this week, at the grocery store, a woman asked him his name. With a completely straight face, he answered, "Captain Hook." She made a comment about his attitude relative to his hands & apparently thought my two year old was somehow mocking himself in reference to Captain Hook & his hands. Ummmm... no. I explained that Will is just very passionate about pirates & that day was in full Captain Hook mode.
When Will does play pirates, he really goes all out - he likes to dress the part, he makes up songs (or modifies songs like "Take Me Out to the Pirate Ship" or "Yo ho, yo ho, it's off to pirates we go" & his vocabulary becomes very piratesque- lots of "hoist the sails," "arrrgh," "shiver me timbers," & "walk the planks" can be heard around our home!
I love his creativity & passion!
